The 2021 KCPE results will be announced on Monday, March 28 or Tuesday, March 29, according to Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha.
Magoha revealed the information when he opened the KCSE exam container in Kibra, Nairobi, on March 23.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has given him permission to announce the results on Monday or Tuesday next week, according to the ministry.
"The exam has been graded. "We're still tallying and verifying the results before they can be verified as suitable for release," he said. The exam results were expected this week, according to reports.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) reported that 1,225,507 applicants had registered for the KCPE test in 2021.
Concerns that the government is not entirely prepared to roll out junior secondary education were addressed by Education CS Magoha.
According to the minister, the government would train more teachers to better assist students in grades seven and eight.
He also said that at least 4,000 junior secondary classrooms have been built, with another 1,500 on the way.
"We expect to finish 6,497 classrooms in ten days [from today]." That means, as instructed by President Kenyatta, we would have completed more than half of the classrooms," he stated.
Grade Six transition will take place in May, according to Magoha, and students will take the exam in December, "which has already been arranged."
During the December exam, the first Grade Six students in the 2-6-3-3-3 school system will attempt to make up 40% of their grade.
