Finally Museveni's Son Retires After 28 Years Of Power


The son of Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has announced his retirement as the Commander of Land Forces.

the 47-year-old Kainerugaba, today tweeted on his official page saying that he has achieved a lot in the army since he took over. "After 28 years of service in my glorious military, the greatest military in the world, I am happy to announce my retirement. I and my soldiers have achieved so much!" Kainerugaba said.

Local media affirmed in their publications that the outgoing army officer has been to the forces for the last 28 years. According to sources familiar with this story, Kainerugaba was reappointed as the Commander of the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) in 2020. He had also served in the same position from 2008 to 2017. Kainerugaba is has been t the headlines for a while following the recent comment about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In 2017, Muhoozi was appointed as the Presidential Adviser, a move that triggered varying speculations from Ugandans as some said that he was being prepared for the presidency.
